Thrill!
Some people love horrible stories. Here is one. This is a real story.
Last Friday, my brother turned on his computer as usual when he just arrived home.
As he didn't notice, something hit his computer.....
The screen immediately showed......
"The computer will reboot automatically after 15 minutes."
That's a virus! ~>_<~
He could not isolate the virus. Neither could he delete it. Norton Antivirus did not work. His computer is going to reboot again automatically. He could stop it!
IS THIS A HORRIBLE STORY? ALL PC OWNERS.
Fortunately, my computer did not get the virus. (T_T)

Today I tried to copy my old slide with D70, but the result was not good. Not even 50% of original image quality can be recovered. XP
Anyway, here is one of resized photos. Salted fishes. Taken in T.O..
I love slides.

Thursday, it was a very tiring night. There were a lot of problems happened in my class. After handling those problems, I dragged my worried body home.
When I was walking in the park nearby my home, I smelt something very pleasant.
What's that? Flowers?
It has been already April, I expected that flowers should start blooming on vine at the top of a shed in the park. However, I still haven't found any flowers that morning.
I looked up to the shed again, ah, flowers just started blooming. A few flowers were hanging down on the shed.
I took my camera and took a few photos, but they were all not good. Therefore, I tried again on the next day.
I am going to take some portraits for my friends, and AI 80-200 F/4.5 is the best lens for this job, so I tried to practise shooting with this lens on D70. I hope that I can get used to this lens by Sunday.
Anyway, as vine flowers bloom, summer is coming soon.

The Proud Littles
My little students won a championship yesterday morning. I am so proud of them. I am the classmaster of the first boy from the left of the second roll. The kid in front of him is his little brother. I am also the phonetics teacher of this younger brother.
This is a picture of them taken by me after school yesterday.
They are going to have more competitions on the coming Saturday and Sunday. Please support them.

Stream in park
I have taken photos at this spot several time, but I have never got a photo right for this small waterfall. The sun always brights up the rock on the right hand side, the contract of this spot is always very high during the daytime. I failed several times to take a picture there. This time I tried to take a picture when clouds covered the sun. It looks a little better.
I took this picture with 1/8s without a tripod, so the picture is not clear enough.

Evening at LGT
Today I went to BBQ at Loan Gu Tan in the afternoon with people in my church.
In the evening, my friend, her nieces and I walked on a beach. My friend got an idea of collecting some little stones and shells to make a mosaic picture. Then, they all started looking for shells and stones on the beach when I took photos nearby them.
One of her nieces is a little girl studying in kindergarten. She was very fond of picking shells, but she seemed not knowing how a shell should look like, thus always picking up broken shells and plastics. Her aunt walked far away, and her cousins did not take care of her, so I helped her distingish what she has picked up.
She just found something again. She was running towards me cheerfully. Her hair was up as she ran. Her face got sunburn in the afternoon as the sun was very bright when she had BBQ under the sun. She used a piece of tissue to wrap her shells. She thought she got a beautiful shell, but later I told her that was actually a stone.

Sample Images from my 4 Tele Lenses
The above photos were shot with 4 different lenses:
(1)Auto 200mm F/4 Q.C. - A lot of fungi on glass
(2)AI 80-200mm F/4.5 - relaxed focusing ring
(3)AF 70-210mm F/4 - a lot of dust on each piece of glass, scatched
(4)AF-D 70-210mm F/4-5.6 - prefect condition
All of them were set at 200mm. I have already know that Lens (3) and Lens (4) do not give sharp image at 200mm before the test, but I just want to compare.
By the way, I did another test before, @85-135mm, Lens (3) give pretty sharp image.
I shot a small hut away from 80+m.
Setting of D70:
ISO200, MF, M-mode, F8, 1/500s, sunlight, Portrait
Images:
cropped from 100% original files without any adjustment.
RESULTS:
Sample (a) from Lens (1)
Sample (b) from Lens (2)
Sample (k) from Lens (3)
Sample (d) from Lens (4)
CONCLUSTIONS:
Lens (1)
Should I repair this lens by cleaning fungi on it? Color tone is a little bit cool, good for landscape.
Lens (2)
People keep giving bad words at their experience of using this lens. Now it is my turn to celebrate! ;) Color tone is warmer than that of Lens (1)
Lens (3)
Gee! Dusts hurts the lens. I really should take it to remove all dusts after the Easter Holiday. After repairing, test again.
Len (4)
Doesn't look good if stand alone, but if you compare with photos for AFD 24-120 F3.5-5.6, Lens (4) is much sharper than AFD 24-120 lens within the range from 70mm to 135mm.

Although I have a very powerful camera like Nikon F100 and knew the theories how to take motion photos many years ago, I've never tried to practise the skills of shooting motions. It is because I will be doomed by the hugh amount of film consumption.
Practising sport photography is one of the most reasons why I want D70. Today I went to a sport field in my neigborhood to attempt my first experience of sport photography.
I brought 3 lenses with me - AFD 24-120, AFD 70-210/4-5.6, and AF 70-210/4. I started from using 24-120 with AF-S, then AF-C. I tested the focusing preformances of those lenses one by one.
AFD 70-210/4-4.5 was supposed to work best in this condition, and AF 70-210 should be the worst. The former lens has good reputation of quick focuing. In my experience, the later lens can AF smoothly when and only when I use F100 with MB-15. That's really a slow lens.
However, my experience today crossed all this prediction. AF 70-210mm F/4 was surprisingly the lens did the best job in the afternoon. Quick and accurate. You also have to know that it is the sharpest AF tele-zoom lens in my weapon list. Ironicly, the glass condition of this lens are notorious. Scratches, dust, fungi....just you name it, the lens has got it. However, the lens is JUST STILL SO SHARP!
I also find out the super slow AF 70-210mm f4 lens can handle sport photography well. Why do people dump in so much money on AFS lens, and why do Canon fans yell out for USM all the time, as most of them are not shooting wild animals, Grand Prix and etc. all the time?
The preformance of D70 also make me so happy. Auto-gun-shooting 3 frames per second, catching people's action continuously. Quick respond of shutter and AF-C function raised the chance of taking successful pictures. In about an hour, I took over 260 pictures without any pain on paying for film. What a happy afternoon.

My Pros and Cons about D70 (Chinese)
我是大幅消耗菲林的SLR用家,入D70是為了省回菲林錢和沖印費。
優點:
- 開機及關機的速度快
- 快門滯延可與FSLR相比
- 檔案存取快
- AF/MF switch
- 95%frame coverage
- 以前最常用的50/1.8立即變了不夠廣,郁悶
- 電池的消耗量還可以接受
