In this month, there is a contest of designing combating techniques for a particular character in a popular comics on an online forum in mainland China .

Yesterday, I came up with an idea, so I wrote it down and created a short story outline. The combating technique was awarded the highest score in the contest up to this moment. The score is 60% higher than that of the technique at the second place. I feel great because this success means I am able enough to write something which can win appreciation in the population in mainland China. ;)

Anyway, I am going to lose the contest because the prize will be given according to the quantity of works, not quality. In other words, it depends on the number of combating techniques created by a person. However, it doesn't matter at all.

Tonight, I went to attent a voice-actor training course. My friend in church has a friend who took the course and felt the course very interesting. She told me that I will have chance to touch and use the real, professional equipments, to visit a recording studio, and to meet professional voice-actors. Therefore, I went to take the course at night.

It was the first lesson. The instructor spend almost one and a half hour on history only. I fell to sleep several times.

In the last half and hour of the lesson, we finally have chance to do our first test-drive recording. The instructor played a session of fighting movement in a Kung-fu moive in 60s. We need to add the voice for actors who were fighting. All we did were saying "HA", "Hei", "Ah", and etc when actors moved. Sound easy but actually very difficult. Students made a lot of jokes when they acted.

My turn came, and I acted as a lady fighter in the moive. When I looked at the TV screen, I couldn't catch up with the movement of actors, of course I was silent. The last movement of the fight is the lady kicked on a men's body and made him fried out to drop on a trolley. I waked up at the movement and cried loudly "HAAA!". The person sitting right next to me immediately yelled, "YOU SCARED ME!" Laughters explosed in the whole class. I laid my face on the bench and laugh to an extent that I was not able to straight my body.

Well, well, well. Happy test drive. XDDDD

One of my classmates in high school was disappeared when Tsunami attacked Thailand. I pray that he is still alive and will be able to come back peacefully.

Update: My former classmate name was finally removed from the "missing" list on government homepage last week. As I didn't hear about his death on news, I believe that he has come home. Thanks God.

"Ring the Bells, Ring the Bells, Let the whole world Know

Christ was born in Bethelam, Many years ago..."

A Christmas hymn is ringing in the heart.

At the Christmas night, I was staying at home alone. I made phone calls to greet my friends one by one. The last call I made was for a buddy who knew in an organization of assisting cancer patients. That call was the last one at that night because it was very long.

We got to know each other 5 years ago in a course which trained voluntary cancer survivors to support cancer patients. As we rarely met other young fellows who've got the same type of cancer I had (It used to be a grandy's matter in the past, but a doctor told me that both diagnosing and re-diagnosing rates of that cancer were up-shooting in young-age group when I did my regular checking in hospital early this year.), so we acquainted quickly.

When she told me she was rediagnosed, that was nothing surprising me. She emphasized that she is OK and not to worry about her. I told her to stop that freak talk as I was also a cancer patient. I wanted to know what's wrong in her body. After she described her body condition to me, I understood clearly that this is her final battle if no miracle is happening.

Of course, that's nothing to feel sad about. The thing happening on her can happen to me. From the day we made friends we knew the chance of saying goodbye in recent years. For us, it is only the matter of who is the subject in the sentence. As the usual, later we talked about men, time for outting, family stuffs and so on.

As I mentioned that I am writing a novel, she said she would like to be the first one to buy it if it can get published when I finish it. I hope so. I am a poor writer, I have been a scientist most of my life, I write the novel just for fun. I am not sure if I will be able to write until the last chapter of the story. However, at this moment, I pray for that I will be able to put my book in her hand when I still can.

For auld lang syne, my dear,

For auld lang syne,

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

Happy New Year, My dear friends.

Week over week, I tried to repair my computer from horrible running speed. Today, I finally got you! Worm.Win32.Agobot.138752.B.

I thought there may be a virus or multiple viruses in my computer for a while. However, anti-virus scanning did not spot any germs. Last week I tried defragmentization my drives. However, the running speed of my PC is still horribly slow. This week, I turned to chase any spyware and I learnt that I can find spyware by checking programs running as the background. In this morning, when I was checking the background running programs by searching what they are one by one on internet, finally, I spotted the worm. I also found a couple programs, which are not necessary to run as background.

Now my PC is running much more smoothly. It is a find day today.

Since I decided to book an air ticket to Japan last Saturday, my life is full of tensions in these days.

This is my first long travelling trip, and I am going alone. This is not a day trip; I don't know the area and I have to arrange hotels and transportation too. It is also different from going to study in the US for several years; I don't have several days to get information to plan what I am going to do after the arrival. During the days in the US, I had time, I had friends, I also had my own car no matter how old it was. I know the system of the US, and the most important of all, I know their language well. If anything goes wrong in my trip in Japan, it's hard to find someone surronding me who can speak English or Cantonese.

Recently, I am very busy to dig information related to travelling in Japan on internet from day til night, checking timetables of bus and trains, reserving rooms in inns and hotels, looking for maps and tourist guide to plan the tour. Nevertheless, I still have to keep looking for new job, puzzling for my future.

Although I am unemployed, I work until mid-night. My working hour now is acturally longer than that when I had a regular job. There is really tones of things to learn to plan a backpacking trip in a foreign country for the first time. However, shall I visit Japan for the second time? It seems not very positive. To use again the knowledge I have recently learned, I think I should become a travel agent to help people travel in Japan and the US. Hmm...That's a career...I am just talking. Please don't get serious.

Yesterday, my brother and his co-workers had a meeting to discuss what to do in a school function.

One teacher said, "How about arranging the basketball team to preform 插花 (crossover) on the basketball court?"

(In Hong Kong, "插花" can be a slang which means "crossover" technique of basketball .)

A Chinese Teaching Assistant immediately replied, "Not good. We should let the team preform 插花 (crossover) on the court, and near the team, we have a home economics teacher to perform 插花 (the art of arranging flowers)."

"What?"

The TA continued, "So that, there will be a show that boys will be interested when the girls will also be entertained."

Fabulous. Who can beat this guy.

This blog haven't been updated for more than 3 months. I got a cold right on the first day of summer holiday. Two week later, when I just recovered from the cold, I accompanied my family to travel in the Mainland China. I will talk about the trip in detail in next few days.

What is keeping me busy right now? Although it is now summer holiday, why can't people still see me online?

There are two things keeping me busy - developing a new career and struggling to realize my marathon dream.

That's a long story how I came to an idea of running in the race. Anyway, this is very difficult dream. I run extremely slow, slower than I walk. Even when I was healthy, I cannot bear to run on a MTR platform just for chasing the train. How come I can join the game? but, I am now still practising every day.

My first attempt of joining the Marathon was ended when I hurted my right knee after school on the day before the Christmas holiday 2 years ago. I started to practise in September of 2002. By that time, I couldn't run more than 10 steps, so I jumped over a rope for 10 times, then another 10. Over and over, one week later I could continously jump more than 50 times, so I started to run around a small park. Before I hurted my knee, I could finally run 10 km. The injure took me almost one year to heal.

I started to exercise again in November 2003, but I could only finish 1km. At the end of that year, I could run 10km within 2 hours. I thought I could try to join the 10km race in the spring of 2004. However, during the Chinese New Year holiday, I sprinkled my left foot.

Then now, the third attempt. Since the late July, I have been very tired every night. My muscle is pain. I rush to my bed early every night. That's why no one see me online - I am a pig on my bed! Last week, the muscle pains after exercises is finally gone. It is good news. I am getting stronger. However, my right knee and left foot started to give me trouble again. I went to see doctor, and when my mother knew it, she became worried and tried to stop me running. I know that I have to keep my legs healthy before the spring when I try to work out as hard as I can. Therefore, I have been swimming instead of running since Sunday. My mother will be angry when I run again. The road to marathon is not easy for everyone, but I have locked the target - Spring, 2005.

Some people love horrible stories. Here is one. This is a real story.

Last Friday, my brother turned on his computer as usual when he just arrived home.

As he didn't notice, something hit his computer.....

The screen immediately showed......

"The computer will reboot automatically after 15 minutes."

That's a virus! ~>_<~

He could not isolate the virus. Neither could he delete it. Norton Antivirus did not work. His computer is going to reboot again automatically. He could stop it!

IS THIS A HORRIBLE STORY? ALL PC OWNERS.

Fortunately, my computer did not get the virus. (T_T)

My little students won a championship yesterday morning. I am so proud of them. I am the classmaster of the first boy from the left of the second roll. The kid in front of him is his little brother. I am also the phonetics teacher of this younger brother.

This is a picture of them taken by me after school yesterday.

They are going to have more competitions on the coming Saturday and Sunday. Please support them.
